During a massive Russian attack on the night of 24 May, the occupying forces launched 90 missiles, around 600 attack drones and a missile from the ‘Oreshnik’ system at Bila Tserkva

This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the head of state, Kyiv was the main target of the Russian attack. At the same time, other regions of the country also came under fire.

Russia fired 90 missiles and 600 drones

Zelenskyy reported that of the 90 missiles the enemy used during the attack, 36 were ballistic. Ukrainian air defence forces managed to destroy some of the aerial targets, but not all missiles were intercepted. As of 24 May, at least 83 casualties have been reported. There are also fatalities. Rescue workers, medics and utility services continue to work at the sites of the strikes. The President noted that residential buildings, schools, infrastructure facilities and civilian structures were damaged as a result of the shelling.

Zelenskyy: Russia used ‘Oreshnik’ against Bila Tserkva

Separately, the head of state stated that during the attack, Russian troops used a missile from the ‘Oreshnik’ system to strike Bila Tserkva.

“They launched their ‘Oreshnik’ against Bila Tserkva. It’s truly absurd,” said Zelenskyy.

The President also called on international partners not to waver in their support for Ukraine and to step up pressure on Russia. According to him, only decisive action by allies can force the Kremlin to move from missile strikes to genuine peace talks.

“It is important that Ukraine is not left on its own. Decisions are needed from the United States of America, from Europe, and from other partners,” the head of state emphasised.
