Russia has attacked a number of regions in Ukraine with drones and missiles; there are fatalities and injuries

On the night of 18 June and over the previous 24 hours, Russian troops attacked several regions of Ukraine. The attacks resulted in casualties and damage to residential, energy and civilian infrastructure.

Sumy Region

A civilian man was killed in the Sumy community as a result of an attack by Russian drones. His body was found on the grounds of a private residence on the outskirts of the city.

Following a series of strikes, emergency services were deployed to four locations. In a damaged nine-storey building, specialists removed unstable structures and rescued a woman who was trapped inside a locked flat. Emergency services also extinguished a fire in a private residential area. The body of the deceased was found at the scene. Damage to a residential building was recorded; rescue workers inspected the impact sites and provided first aid to residents.

Kyiv

A series of explosions rang out in the capital during the night. Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that the enemy was attacking Kyiv with ballistic missiles and urged residents to remain in safe places until the air-raid alert was lifted.

Zaporizhzhia region

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out 896 strikes on 45 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Three people were injured as a result of attacks on the Zaporizhzhia district.

There were also 102 reports of damage to residential buildings, vehicles and infrastructure.

Dnipropetrovsk region

Since the evening, Russian troops have attacked five districts of the region more than ten times using drones, artillery and aerial bombs.

In the Nikopol district, the communities of Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovka came under attack. An administrative building, infrastructure facilities, blocks of flats and private houses, as well as cars, were damaged. A 58-year-old man was injured and hospitalised in a serious condition.

In the Kryvyi Rih district, Russian troops attacked the Apostolivska community, where infrastructure was damaged. Damage to infrastructure facilities was also reported in the town of Samar.

In Kam'yanske, a business premises was damaged. In the Synelnykivskyi district, the Vasylkivska community came under attack, with damage to private homes and a car.

Kherson region

Over the past 24 hours, four people were injured as a result of Russian strikes in the Kherson region.

Beryslav, Rakivka, Tarasa Shevchenka, Blahovishchenske, Sahaidachne, Urozhayne, Novoraysk, Bilozerka, Charivne, Zolota Balka, Pryozernoye, Gavrilivka, Posad-Pokrovskoye, Novodmytrivka, Stanislav, Kizomys, Antonivka, Dniprovskoye, Prydniprovskoye, Komyshany, Nadiivka, Oleksandrivka, Ponyativka, Kyselivka, Yantarne, Chornobaivka, Mykilsk, Olhivka, Osokorivka, Tomaryne, Tyahynka, Zymivnyk, Petropavlivka and Kherson.

Three high-rise blocks and 12 private houses have been damaged in the region. A further six people have been evacuated from the de-occupied communities.

Poltava Oblast

Overnight, Russian drones attacked two districts in the Poltava region. In the Poltava district, an industrial facility and a private enterprise were struck. An administrative building and industrial equipment were damaged. One person was injured and hospitalised.

Strikes on a private house and an energy infrastructure facility were also recorded. This caused a power cut; repair work is being carried out by teams from JSC ‘Poltavaoblenergo’.

In the Myrhorod district, storage facilities were damaged when a drone crashed. No one was injured in this incident.
