The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police uncovered an international channel of smuggling and distribution of hard drugs
This was reported by the SBU Press ServiceU. According to the investigation, the organizers received at least 16 million hryvnias in "profits" from drug trafficking each month. To maintain secrecy, they tested their couriers with a "lie detector," using the services of a professional polygraph examiner.
Drugs were smuggled through foreign accomplices, and in Ukraine, "imported" cocaine was distributed through a network of couriers in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. To find clients, they used specialized Telegram channels, and deliveries were made using rented vehicles with fake license plates.
The leaders of the group were repeat offenders who had previously served sentences for serious crimes, including drug trafficking. They established a clear hierarchy: couriers never contacted the leaders directly and received "goods" through intermediaries.
The detainees have been notified of suspicion. During 58 searches, drugs, unregistered weapons with ammunition, phones, computer equipment, and rough notes with evidence of drug trafficking were seized. Currently, all suspects are in custody. They face up to 12 years of imprisonment with property confiscation.
