On Mother’s Day, Ukrainian presenter and interviewer Slava Dyomin addressed his mother, with whom he has a strained relationship and is no longer on speaking terms. The TV personality had previously revealed that his mother had taken him to court to claim child support and that she supports Russia’s war against Ukraine.

This has been reported by the media, citing a post by Slava Dyomin.

Ukrainian presenter and interviewer Slava Dyomin publicly addressed his mother on Mother’s Day, which was celebrated in Ukraine on 10 May in 2026.

The showman has repeatedly said that he has a complicated relationship with his mother and is currently not on speaking terms with her.

Despite this, Dyomin stated that for him, Mother’s Day is not about perfect relationships, but about gratitude for life, trying to understand, and growing up.

“A mum isn’t always about an ideal relationship. It isn’t always about understanding, warm hugs or words that are easy to say. Sometimes it’s about hurt feelings, distance, years of silence or things that still hurt. For me, Mother’s Day isn’t about perfection. It’s about gratitude for life. About trying to understand. About growing up. All parents make mistakes. But I believe that despite these mistakes, they continue to love their children. Understanding is between us and our parents. And time will tell,” wrote the presenter.

According to the publication, Slava Dyomin has a complicated relationship with his mum. He previously said that as a child she treated him harshly, punishing him both physically and emotionally.

Eventually, they stopped communicating. The showman’s mother currently lives in Italy.

According to Dyomin, his mother supports Russia’s war against Ukraine and takes part in demonstrations abroad in support of the Russian Federation.

Before cutting off contact completely, the presenter, in his own words, tried many times to re-establish contact with his mother, but these attempts were unsuccessful.

Dyomin also previously admitted that his mother had sought child support from him through the courts.

In his message, the presenter urged people to find common ground with their parents, even if family relations had been difficult.

As reported by ThePublic, a Ukrainian businessman was accused in Hawaii of attacking a rare seal.
