Emergency evacuation on the Odessa railway due to the threat of enemy UAVs
On the night of 22 March, an accident occurred on the Odessa railway line whilst passengers were being evacuated due to the threat of enemy drones. The train conductor sustained fatal injuries, and one of the passengers was also injured.
This has been reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.
The tragedy occurred during an emergency stop of the train to evacuate passengers to a safe location due to a drone hazard. The conductor was fatally injured by an oncoming train, which was also heading to its evacuation stop at that very moment.
In addition to the death of the railway worker, one of the passengers sustained moderate injuries. The injured person is receiving the necessary medical care.
A thorough investigation into all the circumstances of the incident is currently underway. Railway staff express their condolences to the family of their deceased colleague and emphasise the importance of adhering to safety rules during emergency procedures.
