Heavy snowfall in the Netherlands has caused large-scale transport disruptions. Buses are stopped in Utrecht, trains are almost non-existent near Amsterdam, and about 400 flights have been cancelled in Schiphol.

The Netherlands is experiencing a transport collapse for the second day in a row due to heavy snowfall and ice. In the city of Utrecht, bus services have been completely suspended until at least the end of the day and into the morning hours of the next day, NOS reports.

Train operator NS reports that trains in most regions are running on a reduced winter schedule. A partial resumption of trains began around 10:00 local time. However, in the Amsterdam area, train services remain severely limited due to frozen tracks.

Aviation also suffered serious losses. About 400 flights were cancelled at Schiphol Airport. Authorities are urging citizens to postpone travel if possible, closely monitor carriers' messages and switch to remote work.
