Strawberry prices have started to fall in Ukraine
This is according to EastFruit.
Demand for strawberries remains subdued, so in a competitive market, growers are forced to gradually lower prices for this perishable produce.
Just a week ago, farmers were refusing to sell greenhouse strawberries for less than 200–260 UAH per kilogram. However, at the start of this week, when the harvest of berries from polytunnel greenhouses began in the southern and western regions, wholesale prices immediately fell by 14%, to 170–230 UAH per kilogram.
At the same time, current strawberry prices in Ukraine remain on average 32% higher than in the same period last year, analysts note.
According to EastFruit, the supply of local strawberries on the market has not yet reached peak levels, with a more widespread harvest expected as early as the beginning of next month.
