The 'Eurovision 2026' Junior Song Contest will take place on 24 October in Malta, specifically in Ta' Qali.

This was announced by the competition’s press office.

The French representative Lou Deles won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song “Ce monde”. However, the winning country, France, has declined to host the contest in 2026.

At the time, France’s public broadcaster France Télévisions explained that it planned to save €140 million in 2026 to balance the annual budget. Organising a large-scale music contest does not fit into these plans.

Eurovision 2026 is currently taking place in Vienna, Austria. The first and second semi-finals of the contest have already taken place. Fifteen countries competed for 10 places in the final. Ukraine has qualified for the grand final — it is represented by LELÉKA with the song “Ridnym”, performing in slot 12.
