The General Staff has updated its figures on Russian casualties over the past 24 hours
As of 17 July 2026, the total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stand at around 1,425,990 personnel. Over the past 24 hours, a further 1,370 military personnel were lost.
Furthermore, according to the General Staff, over the past 24 hours the Russian army lost four tanks, six armoured fighting vehicles, 65 artillery systems, seven multiple launch rocket systems, four air defence systems and one helicopter.
In addition, the Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed 1,879 tactical-level drones, three cruise missiles, 13 ground-based robotic systems, 489 vehicles and tankers, as well as four pieces of specialised equipment.
In total, according to the General Staff, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost 12,148 tanks, 24,946 armoured combat vehicles, 46,084 artillery systems, 1,943 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,496 air defence systems, 437 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 412,884 tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles, 4,909 cruise missiles, 34 ships and boats, two submarines, 121,216 vehicles and tankers, 4,424 units of specialised equipment and 1,932 ground-based robotic systems.
The General Staff noted that the figures are subject to revision.
