Temperatures of up to +34 and thunderstorms in the south: what will the weather be like in Ukraine on 17 July?
This has been reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.
No rainfall is forecast in most regions. However, in the southern and south-eastern regions, there will be light, short-lived showers in places during the day, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms.
The wind will be mainly north-easterly, and north-westerly in some regions, with speeds of 5–10 metres per second.
Daytime temperatures in most regions will range from +23 to +28 degrees. It will be warmer in the western and south-western regions — from +26 to +31 degrees — whilst in Zakarpattia, temperatures will reach up to +34 degrees in places.
Weather in Kyiv and the Kyiv region
In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, partly cloudy conditions with no precipitation are expected on 17 July.
Daytime temperatures in the region will range from +23 to +28 degrees. In the capital, forecasters predict temperatures of around +25…+27 degrees. A north-easterly wind will blow at a speed of 5–10 metres per second.
What will the weather be like in the coming days?
According to the forecast by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, on 16–17 July, localised brief showers and thunderstorms will persist mainly in the south and south-east. No significant rainfall is expected in the rest of the country. Daytime temperatures over the coming days will generally range between +23 and +30 degrees.
Overall, July 2026 in Ukraine is forecast to be warmer than the climatic norm. The average monthly temperature is expected to range from +21.8 to +26 degrees, and in the Carpathians from +18 to +20 degrees. In most regions, this is approximately two degrees above the norm, and in the west — three degrees.
According to meteorologists’ calculations, rainfall in July will be below normal, amounting to around 60–75 per cent of usual levels.
