The detainees are currently being served with notices of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine concerning the obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a state of emergency. One of the detainees is also charged under Article 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for unauthorised absence from a military unit or place of service.

The incident took place on Chervona Kalyna Avenue in Lviv whilst the military and police were conducting public awareness operations.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police reported the detention of one of the rioters, who is suspected of assaulting a police officer and causing him bodily harm.

Law enforcement officials note that investigative and operational measures are ongoing. Their aim is to identify and bring to justice all those involved in the attack.
