The Ukrainian military has bombed four bridges in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation
On 7 July, the Ukrainian military carried out strikes on bridges in the Valuy District of the Belgorod Region in Russia. This was reported by TMT.
According to monitoring sources, a rocket destroyed a bridge over the Uraeva River in the village of Kolykhalino. The bridge carried a road leading to border settlements, including Urazovo, Dvuluchnoe and Zherdevka. Videos showing the aftermath of the strike have also appeared online.
It is claimed that this route was used by Russian troops to supply their forces in the Kupiansk direction via the ‘Logachevka’ road checkpoint.
Furthermore, according to sources, the Ukrainian military struck the bridge between Urazove and the village of Dvuluchne, approximately eight kilometres south of the crossing at Kolykhaline.
In light of these events, the Ministry of Transport of the Belgorod Region has introduced temporary traffic restrictions. From 7 July to 5 August, traffic will be blocked on two sections of the Valuyki–Urazove–Logachevka road near the exits from Shelaevo and Urazove.
Russian sources claim that four bridges in the Valuyki district were destroyed on 7 July. It is not specified which crossings were damaged. The Ukrainian side is attempting to disrupt the logistics of Russian units engaged in combat operations in the Kharkiv sector.
Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that more than ten bridges had been destroyed in territories temporarily occupied by Russia. According to the General Staff, the targets were facilities used to transport Russian army personnel, weapons and ammunition.
Among these targets were two road bridges in the Donetsk region, three railway bridges in the Luhansk region, a road bridge in Azov, Zaporizhzhia region, as well as a number of bridges in Crimea, in particular the crossings linking the peninsula with the Kherson region.
