During the consideration of the issue of seizure of property, the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction stated that the contact was initiated by a member of parliament, and the court partially granted the prosecution's request.

The leader of the Batkivshchyna parliamentary faction, Yulia Tymoshenko, stated in the High Anti-Corruption Court that she was not acquainted with MP Ihor Kopytin until they met in person. She said this during a court hearing on the prosecution's motion to seize her property.

According to Tymoshenko, she did not initiate the acquaintance and did not arrange the meeting. She claimed that the MP himself requested a conversation through mutual acquaintances. The politician emphasised that until that moment, she did not even know of his existence and had no interest in communicating with him.

During the hearing, the court combined the consideration of two motions concerning the seizure of Tymoshenko's property and the property seized during searches. The representative of the prosecution explained that this did not concern the freezing of all the MP's accounts, but only one account and the funds that were in it as of 14 January 2026. At the same time, the prosecutor noted that even if these funds were seized, Tymoshenko would still be able to receive her salary and compensation related to her parliamentary activities.

As a result, the High Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the prosecution's request. The court refused to freeze one of Tymoshenko's bank accounts, recognising it as her only official source of income. At the same time, part of her husband's property was seized, including a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 and an Audi A8, as well as two garages in Dnipro. In addition, the court seized six mobile phones and a number of documents seized during searches.

As previously reported, on 13 January, NABU and SAP announced that they had exposed the leader of one of the Verkhovna Rada factions for attempting to bribe deputies to vote on draft laws. Tymoshenko denies all charges. On 16 January, the court imposed a preventive measure in the form of bail of more than 33 million hryvnias, of which more than 13 million was paid on 20 January. The defence announced its intention to appeal the decision to seize property.
