Monobank has experienced a widespread outage: users are unable to transfer money
The Monobank app on a smartphone during the widespread technical glitch on 29 April
On 29 April, the Monobank app experienced a widespread technical glitch. In these times of war, when mobile banking is an everyday tool for many Ukrainians to make transfers, pay bills and check their accounts, users are reporting problems launching the app and an inability to access key features.

This is according to a statement by Oleg Gorokhovsky, co-founder of Monobank.

On 29 April, the Monobank app experienced a widespread outage.

Both iOS and Android users are reporting issues.

According to users, the app currently won’t launch at all on iOS.

On Android, Monobank opens with a delay for some users, and in some cases does not work at all and displays an error.

Some users report being stuck in a loop when logging in.

In such cases, the app asks the user to scan their fingerprint or face several times in a row, after which it logs them in, but then repeats the same action again.

Due to the glitch, users are unable to fully utilise the app’s core banking functions.

In particular, transfers, account checks, mobile top-ups and other operations within the app are not working.

Monobank co-founder Oleg Gorokhovsky has already commented on the situation on his Telegram channel.

He did not specify the cause of the glitch, but said the team was working to resolve the issue.

“Overnight outage. Sorry. We’re fixing it,” Gorokhovsky wrote.

As reported by ThePublic, the Monobank scandal has continued following an expert review.
