Explosions in Ukrainian cities: what is known
As a reminder, in March, explosions occurred near police facilities in Lviv and several other cities, which were officially classified as terrorist attacks.
The most tragic events occurred in Lviv, where explosions in rubbish bins claimed the life of patrol officer Viktoria Shpylka, with a further 25 law enforcement officers injured. The perpetrators used a scheme involving a fake call to ‘102’ to set up an ambush.
Law enforcement identified the perpetrators: in Lviv, a woman was arrested who had planted a homemade explosive device in exchange for a promise to write off her loan, as well as her accomplice who made the call.
Similar attacks have occurred in other regions. In Mykolaiv, an explosion at a petrol station injured seven patrol officers, whilst in Dnipro, an explosion occurred directly inside a district police station, with no casualties reported.
