In France, 145 people were injured by syringe injections during the festival.
It is unknown whether the perpetrators used so-called "rape injections" against their victims.

In France, after the Fête de la Musique music festival, 145 people reported syringe injections. The police detained 12 suspects, reports The Guardian.

It is noted that before the festival, some activists warned about calls on social media to attack women with syringes. It is currently unknown who exactly spread these posts.

The victims were people in various cities of France: Paris, Rouen, Tournai, and others. It is not yet known whether the perpetrators used so-called "rape injections" against their victims — narcotic substances often used by criminals.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that 145 victims across the country reported being struck with needles during street music events. The Paris police reported 13 cases in the capital.

"Some victims were taken to hospitals for toxicological examinations," said the department.

Three victims in Paris reported feeling unwell after the incident.

The police detained 12 suspects. Among them are four residents of Angoulême, who, according to law enforcement, could have committed up to 50 attacks. Two more men were arrested in Mée: one of them was found with a syringe, and another was identified by a victim.
