On the morning of 21 February, Russian troops launched an air strike on the city of Sumy. Three civilians, including two children, were injured in the attack.

This was reported by The Public with reference to the National Police of Ukraine and the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, at around 4:00 a.m., Russian troops launched an air strike on one of the private sectors of the city of Sumy. The attack caused significant damage.

Three people were reported injured, including two children aged 5 and 17, as well as an elderly woman who was hospitalised. The victims were provided with medical assistance.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration specified that the strike was carried out with an aerial bomb on residential buildings in the Kovpakivskyi district of the city.

According to updated information, an 87-year-old woman was hospitalised. A 5-year-old child and a 17-year-old girl were also injured and received medical assistance on the spot.

Police investigation teams, bomb disposal services, rescuers and other specialised units are working at the scene. The aftermath of the strike is being dealt with.
