A new low in the Verkhovna Rada: the number of MPs has fallen to a critical level
This was announced by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a Member of Parliament from the "Voice" party.
A new MP will join parliament
“The Rada now holds a new ‘record’: 391 MPs. But from the start of the plenary week, one more MP will join ‘Servant of the People’,” Zheleznyak noted.
Olena Kyivets will replace Daria Volodina, whose powers were terminated by parliament on 8 April.
MP Fedir Khrystenko, whom the court found guilty of treason, has also left the Rada.
"The Central Election Commission has reported that MP Fedir Khrystenko has lost his seat following the entry into force of the conviction handed down by the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv. He was elected via a single-member constituency, so the seat will not be filled," explained Zheleznyak.
News.LIVE, citing the head of the parliamentary finance committee, Danylo Getmantsev, reported that Ukraine was on the brink of financial disaster because MPs had failed to pass important bills. In particular, 14 indicators of the Ukraine Facility were not met in 2025. As a result, the country lost €3.9 billion.
However, Getmantsev later stated that the Rada had fully resumed its work. According to him, Davyd Arakhamia had facilitated this. Some of the necessary bills for further cooperation with the IMF have already been voted on.
