In Vinnytsia, two doctors are suspected of illegally registering disability
According to the investigation, the family doctor accepted patients for disability registration and referred them for inpatient treatment to the head of the city hospital department. Investigators documented the receipt of $4,600 for a package of documents to establish a Group II disability.
In February, both medical workers were detained. During searches at their places of work and residence, 956,000 hryvnias, 221,000 US dollars, 5,740 euros in cash, 87 pieces of jewellery, as well as rough notes with the names of people and the amounts of money allegedly received from them were seized.
Prosecutors from the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office informed the suspects of the charges against them under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for compiling and issuing knowingly false documents, Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the extortion and receipt of unlawful benefits by prior conspiracy, and Part 3 of Article 369 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the receipt of unlawful benefits for influencing the decisions of officials.
A motion has been filed with the court to impose preventive measures and remove the suspects from office.
In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
