Easter Truce
Ukraine has submitted a request to the US for an Easter ceasefire, but it is not known whether the Russians will receive it.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about this during a conversation with journalists.

“We have all seen their response in the media: they seem not to be ready for this. I don’t know how serious this response is. We have passed on our request to the American side. I don’t know whether they will be able to convey their message to the Russians. We shall see. Our proposal for a ceasefire at Easter remains,” he noted.

Last year, Putin announced a so-called Easter truce from 18:00 on 19 April to 00:00 on 21 April. According to him, the Russian army would cease all hostilities during this period. However, the Russian Federation failed to honour its promise and launched ‘Shahed’ drones against Ukraine.

This was not the first ceasefire announced by Russia. However, the aggressor state has not fully adhered to any of them.
