Will mobile networks be 'shut down' during alerts? The Civil Protection Department has explained what is happening

Ukraine has denied reports that a law has been passed requiring mobile networks to be shut down during air raid alerts.

The Centre for Countering Disinformation has reported this on Telegram.

It is noted that a fake story is circulating in the Ukrainian information space about an alleged “Law No. 395/2026”, which provides for the shutdown of mobile communications during air raid alerts.

However, as the Centre emphasised, “this information is untrue”.

“No laws or regulations restricting mobile communications during air raid alerts have been adopted,” the statement reads.

It also points out that the government resolution and decree numbered "395/2026" concern other matters and have no bearing whatsoever on the regulation of the telecommunications sector.

The CPD urged people to rely only on verified sources of information and not to share unconfirmed reports.
