The Japanese company Yamaha has unveiled the Tricity 300 urban three-wheeler, which combines modern design, enhanced road stability and a range of technological features for everyday city travel.

The model has been designed as a versatile mode of transport for urban travel. In some countries, the Tricity 300 can be ridden with a standard car driving licence, making it accessible to a wider range of riders. This has been announced by Yamaha Motor Europe.

The scooter is equipped with a 292cc EURO5+ compliant engine with a ‘twist and go’ automatic transmission, ensuring smooth acceleration and a comfortable ride in city traffic.

One of the model’s key features is the built-in airbag for the rider. In the event of a severe frontal collision, it deploys to help reduce the risk of serious injury.

The scooter also features:

  • an ABS system with cornering brake control

  • a BC (Brake Control) system for stabilising movement

  • a Unified Brake System that automatically distributes braking force between the front and rear wheels.

The Tricity 300 is built on the proprietary LMW (Leaning Multi-Wheel) technology, which features two front wheels.

This gives the rider:

  • better road grip

  • stability on slippery surfaces

  • a reduced risk of falling.

The scooter is equipped with a 4.2-inch TFT display and an additional LCD screen. Once the MyRide mobile app is installed, the rider can receive notifications and manage calls and music via a Bluetooth headset.

In addition, Garmin StreetCross navigation is available, displaying information about routes, traffic and weather conditions on the screen.

Additional features

Other features of the Tricity 300 include:

  • Standing Assist, which helps keep the scooter upright when stationary

  • Traction Control System (TCS)

  • keyless Smart Key ignition

  • a large under-seat storage compartment for two helmets

  • a 13-litre fuel tank, providing a long range.

Technical specifications

Key model specifications:

  • Engine: 292 cm³, single-cylinder, 4-stroke

  • power: 20.6 kW

  • Maximum torque: 28.9 Nm

  • Fuel consumption: 3.3 l per 100 km

  • CO₂ emissions: 76 g/km.

Yamaha positions the Tricity 300 as a modern solution for daily city commuting — for those seeking comfortable, stable and technologically advanced transport for urban mobility.
