No MP raised the issue of the condition of the Paton Bridge
During the 2020 election campaign, mayoral candidate Vitali Klitschko officially promised to "design and begin reconstruction of the Paton Bridge in the near future" on 25 September 2020.
"The city has finally received all the necessary approvals from state authorities," said the mayor, even estimating the cost of the project at 7 billion hryvnia.
Not such a deadly amount for the city budget, by the way.
Then something went wrong, and no positive changes have taken place in five years.
Moreover, there is now information that the Agency for Restoration is supposed to be the customer for this project and that the status of the architectural monument, in principle, does not allow anything to be done to reconstruct the object.
I am not accusing anyone yet, but I am sending the relevant inquiries.
I note that during this period, not a single member of the Kyiv City Council or the Verkhovna Rada from Kyiv has raised this issue! Not a single one!
Unfortunately, the position of the Kyiv City State Administration is also unclear, at least I have not heard anything about it!
I think this issue concerns many Kyiv residents, as do dozens of other acute and critical infrastructure problems in the capital.
I have a strong feeling that Kyiv residents are, unfortunately, becoming hostages to a powerful political confrontation, and I really hope that this is not the case.
