Semen Kryvonos was born in 1983. He has a law degree. He has worked in the fields of land relations, local self-government, and public administration.

Over the years, he has held positions in government bodies, including the State Geocadastre. In 2021, he was appointed head of DIAM, a body created as part of urban planning control reforms following the liquidation of DABI.

In March 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Kryvonos as director of NABU following a competition that lasted over a year and was an important condition for Ukraine's cooperation with international partners.
