Official profiles/sources:

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was born on 25 January 1978 in Kryvyi Rih. Despite his law degree from KNEU, he devoted two decades to a creative career. He rose from captain of the KVN team "Kvartal 95" to head of one of the largest media productions in Eastern Europe, "Studio Kvartal 95." He also served as executive producer of the Inter TV channel.

His entry into politics was unprecedented: after the release of the series Servant of the People, in which he played the role of a teacher-president, Zelensky announced his candidacy on New Year's Eve 2019. He won the election by proposing the idea of a "state in a smartphone" and a quick end to the war in Donbas.

However, the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation in 2022 radically changed his role — from a reformist president, he became the leader of a country at war, whose decision to remain in Kyiv in the early days of the offensive became a historic moment.
