Day 1,481 of the war: 144 combat engagements took place on the front line over the past 24 hours
As of 08:00 on 15 March 2026, the 1,481st day of the Russian Federation’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine is underway.
The Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops, who are attempting to improve their tactical position and push deeper into Ukrainian territory. Ukrainian units are inflicting significant losses on the enemy in terms of manpower and equipment across various sections of the front.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), 144 combat engagements took place on the front line over the past 24 hours.
Russian forces carried out one missile strike, during which they fired 68 missiles. In addition, 105 air strikes were recorded, involving the use of 282 guided aerial bombs (GABs). The enemy also deployed 9,222 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,632 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 62 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
The Russian army carried out air strikes, in particular, near the following settlements:
- in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast — Pysanka;
- in the Zaporizhzhia region — Vozdvizhivske, Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, Samiilivka, Vasylivske, Charivne, Dolynka, Tavriiske, Veselyanka and Zaporizhzhia;
- in the Kherson region — Lviv and Olgivka.
Meanwhile, over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces and artillery struck three areas where enemy personnel and equipment were concentrated, as well as two other key Russian military targets.
Three combat engagements were recorded in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. Russian forces carried out 110 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, two of which involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems. In addition, the enemy carried out three air strikes, using nine guided bombs.
In the South Slobozhanskyi sector, the enemy made three attempts to breach Ukrainian defences near Vovchanski Khutory, Fyholivka and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, three attacks were recorded towards Kurylivka and Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russian units made five attempts to breach Ukrainian defences in the areas of Drobysheve, Stavky and Lyman.
In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian units repelled ten attempted advances near Zakitne, Riznykivka, Yampil, Platonivka, Dronivka, and in the direction of Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Nykyforivka and Novomarkove.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces carried out 28 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopil, Illinivka, Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 enemy assaults near Toretsk, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Udachne and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, six attacks were recorded near Oleksandrohrad, Zlagoda and Dobropillia.
In the Huliaipole sector, 18 attacks took place in the areas of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, Zeleny, Charivny, Huliaipole and Mirne.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy made three attempts to improve its tactical position near Shcherbakiv, Stepnogorsk and Pavlivka.
In the Dnipro sector, Ukrainian units repelled three enemy attempts to advance.
Meanwhile, in the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of Russian offensive groupings forming have been recorded.
Ukrainian forces continue to systematically destroy enemy forces and hold them back across all sections of the front.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troop losses over the past 24 hours amounted to 740 personnel. Ukrainian forces also destroyed four tanks, one armoured fighting vehicle, 17 artillery systems, 1,984 unmanned aerial vehicles, 65 missiles, one boat (confirming previous strikes), 110 vehicles and one piece of specialised equipment.
