During the massive attack launched by the aggressor state, Russia, on Kyiv on the night of 24 May, approximately 300 buildings were damaged.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram.

According to him, work is continuing in two districts to clear up the aftermath of yesterday’s strikes – Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi. Nearly 100 State Emergency Service personnel have been deployed to these areas.

Residential buildings account for the majority of the damaged properties. On 24 May, reports were received regarding varying degrees of damage to almost 150 private and multi-storey buildings, Zelenskyy stated.

According to the latest data, 87 people were injured, including three children. Twenty-one people were hospitalised.

“In total, six of our regions have been affected by yesterday’s shelling. There must be more protection: support for air defence is a daily priority of Ukraine’s foreign policy at all levels. And there must be pressure on the aggressor and accountability for all these strikes,” the president emphasised.
