A high-pressure system is moving in over Ukraine: where will it be hot tomorrow, and will anything change at the weekend?
This was reported on Facebook by meteorologist and weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.
What sort of weather will Ukrainians experience on Friday?
The expert said that Friday, 17 July, will be mostly:
- sunny;
- very warm.
Didenko explained that a high-pressure system called Laurent will bring dry weather to most regions.
However, it will not be entirely without rainfall over the next 24 hours.
The meteorologist added that in south-eastern Ukraine, a cold front will bring localised thunderstorms.
Where will it be warmest on 17 July, and where will it be coldest?
According to the forecaster, daytime maximum temperatures on 17 July will average between +25 and +29°C.
It may be even warmer – around +27...+32°C – tomorrow:
- in Zakarpattia;
- in the southern part of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, it will be slightly cooler during the day in the north-east of the country – around +22...+24°C.

What weather should Kyiv residents expect?
According to Didenko, dry and sunny weather is expected in Kyiv throughout 17 July.
“With a lovely, comfortable air temperature of around +25 degrees,” she added.
Meanwhile, tonight, based on the weather forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, temperatures in the capital could reach around +21°C.
What to expect from the weather over the weekend
According to Didenko, “you can now get on with your gardening, orchard work and community duties without any worries”.
She also said that over the weekend (18–19 July), the weather in Ukraine is expected to be:
- dry;
- sunny;
- moderately hot.
“The only exception is Sunday, 19 July, when thunderstorms are forecast in the western regions. Downpours and squalls are possible,” the meteorologist concluded.
