On the night of 2 June, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv. Damage to residential buildings, fires and damage to civilian infrastructure have been reported in various parts of the capital.

As a result of the massive Russian attack on Kyiv, the number of casualties has risen to 58. According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, 40 of the injured have been hospitalised, including two children. Four people are known to have died.

Damage and destruction have been reported in the Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi and Pecherskyi districts of the capital.

In the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out at a petrol station following the fall of debris, likely from a drone.

In the Obolonskyi district, debris fell on open areas near nurseries. A fire also broke out on the site of an unfinished building.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris caused a fire in a three-storey non-residential building. The façade and roof of a nine-storey residential building were partially damaged. A fire also broke out on the fourth and fifth floors of a 24-storey residential building. Fires broke out in two further non-residential premises.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, debris caused a fire on the ground floor of a five-storey residential building. A fire also broke out on the premises of a non-residential building. At another address, damage to the façade and windows of a residential building was reported.

In the Podilskyi district, a second rocket strike on a nine-storey residential building caused partial destruction of the upper floors. People may be trapped under the rubble. Five casualties have been reported. Rescue operations are ongoing.

A fire also broke out in the district on the premises of an educational institution, where a four-storey building caught fire. On the premises of a municipal enterprise, vehicles and a warehouse building were damaged. Fires broke out on the premises of non-residential buildings and as a result of vehicles catching fire in open areas.

In the Holosiivskyi district, the second and third floors of a polyclinic have been destroyed. Fires have also broken out on the premises of a retail complex, in office premises, commercial buildings, small architectural structures and one of the business centres. Cars were on fire in open areas.

In the Solomyanskyi district, debris struck the upper floors of a 15-storey residential building. Fires broke out in a flat on the 16th floor of a high-rise residential block, in a 24-storey residential building and in a private house. Rescue workers rescued one man.

In the Pecherskyi district, minor damage was reported at an unfinished construction site.

Rescue workers, medics and other emergency services are working at the scenes. The clean-up operation following the attack is ongoing.
