A record was set in Kyiv with the unfurling of the Ukrainian Navy’s largest flag
This was reported by Channel 24.
The flag has set a record
The flag measures 35 metres in length and 19.8 metres in width, making it the largest flag of the Ukrainian Navy.
The unfurling ceremony was attended by military personnel and served as a symbol of gratitude to Ukrainian sailors who continue to carry out combat missions amid a full-scale war.
The Navy flag was raised across Ukraine
Other cities across the country also joined in the celebrations for Navy Day. Alongside the Ukrainian national flag, Navy flags were raised on flagpoles.
The Navy command emphasised that this symbol is a mark of respect for the sailors who defend the Ukrainian coastline, ensure security in the Black Sea and take part in combat operations.
Several other events were organised to mark the occasion
The programme of celebrations was not limited to the official ceremony. A special postmark dedicated to Ukrainian naval personnel was unveiled at the Military History Museum.
Demonstration manoeuvres by Navy vessels also took place on the Dnipro, which residents and visitors to the capital were able to watch from Park Bridge.
The Navy noted that Navy Day is an opportunity to thank all servicemen who defend Ukraine at sea and carry out combat missions for the sake of the state’s security.
