The lawyer will pay a 2 million fine for bribing the prosecutor
Khmelnytskyi City District Court of Khmelnytskyi Region approved the plea agreement in the case of providing an unlawful benefit to a public official holding a responsible position.

As reported by ThePublic.info, this was reported by  «Court Reporter» citing the verdict.

The lawyer defended a serviceman suspected of kidnapping firearms. On January 23, 2025, the lawyer handed over $1,500 to the prosecutor of the Khmelnytsky Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region in his official office. This was part of the proposed amount of $5,000 for concluding an agreement with the defendant's lawyer on a guilty plea with a sentence that does not involve imprisonment.

The lawyer faced from 4 to 8 years of imprisonment. But he entered into a guilty plea agreement, which freed him from serving 5 years in prison with a probation period of 2 years. Additionally, the lawyer will pay a fine of 2 million 40 thousand.

The $1,500 in illegal benefits will be confiscated for the state treasury.
