The ESB in Kyiv Region returned UAH 4.6 million in unpaid rent taxes to the budget
Detectives from the Territorial Administration of the Economic Security Bureau in the Kyiv region secured compensation of UAH 4.6 million for losses caused to the state budget by a company engaged in the extraction of minerals. This was reported on 23 January 2026 at 14:30.
The investigation established that, over a long period of time, company officials evaded paying rent for the use of subsoil resources during their financial and economic activities. The company deliberately did not apply the adjustment coefficient when extracting sand and gravel raw materials within the waters of seas, reservoirs, rivers and their floodplains.
The pre-trial investigation was initiated on the basis of an analytical report prepared by specialists from the territorial office of the State Economic Security Service in the Kyiv region. The amount of losses, estimated at 4.6 million hryvnias, was confirmed by a forensic economic examination.
The head of the enterprise was notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding evasion of taxes and fees. ESBU detectives ensured full compensation for the losses caused to the state, and the funds have already been paid to the budget.
Criminal proceedings against the suspect have been referred to the court with a request for exemption from criminal liability in connection with full compensation for the damage. The case is being prosecuted by prosecutors from the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
