Belarus has launched a joint border control centre with Russia, and Russian conscripts subject to a travel ban are no longer being allowed to leave the country.

This has been reported by "Belsat".

A representative of the State Border Committee of Belarus confirmed that Minsk is not allowing Russians to leave whom the aggressor country has banned from leaving.

“If they reply that there are no restrictions on departure, please feel free to leave Belarus. If departure is prohibited, then all questions should be directed to the Russian Federation. If the person is on the list, they will not be allowed to leave. If they are not on the list of persons prohibited from leaving, we will let them go,” he explained.

The first case of Belarus banning a Russian from leaving the country came to light on 27 April. The man, who had received an electronic summons, was due to attend a medical examination on 29 April, after which a ban on his departure from the Russian Federation appeared in the electronic register.

The Russian then attempted to travel abroad via Belarus by land, but was removed from the journey without being provided with any written confirmation.

He then travelled by train to Minsk Airport, but was not allowed to board a flight to Tbilisi there. Later, he was denied boarding on a flight to Yerevan using his Russian passport.

As a reminder, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba previously stated that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is doing everything possible to involve the Belarusian army in direct participation in the war
