Heating networks: heating and power companies owe Naftogaz nearly 150 billion hryvnia
The debts owed by district heating companies to the Naftogaz Group have more than doubled over the last four years – rising from around 60 billion hryvnia to nearly 150 billion hryvnia. The government is working on a mechanism to compensate for the difference in tariffs and is seeking additional sources of funding.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.

In Ukraine, the debts of district heating companies to the Naftogaz group have risen sharply.

According to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, over the last four years, the debt has more than doubled – from approximately 60 billion hryvnias to nearly 150 billion hryvnias.

The problem particularly affects companies in frontline regions.

Against the backdrop of rising debts, the government has instructed officials to develop mechanisms to compensate for the difference in tariffs.

The Cabinet of Ministers is currently considering several possible sources of funding.

These include funds from the state budget, aid from the European Union and international partners, as well as dividends from other state-owned companies.

Separately, the situation in the electricity balancing market is deteriorating.

According to the Ukrainian Solar Energy Association, market participants’ debt to Ukrenergo has already reached 42 billion hryvnias.

This debt increases by approximately 1 billion UAH every month.

At the same time, Ukrenergo’s own financial obligations to power generators are also rising. They have already exceeded 30 billion UAH.

As reported by ThePublic, Naftogaz has changed its bank details: how to check if funds have been credited.
