Global oil prices rose by almost 10% in February, which will affect the situation at Ukrainian petrol stations in March 2026. Analysts predict a possible increase in fuel prices.

Global oil prices rose by almost 10% in February. According to Oleksandr Sirenko, this does not mean an automatic increase in the cost of petrol or diesel by the same percentage, as there is a tax component in a litre of fuel. At the same time, there are preconditions for growth.

The expert noted that Ukraine imports almost all of its petroleum products from Europe at world prices, so the rise in oil prices affects the cost of fuel.

According to his forecast, in March, petrol and diesel prices may increase by about 1 hryvnia per litre. The situation will depend on the further dynamics of oil prices and the exchange rate.

Sirenko stressed that large chains traditionally set the pricing policy on the market, and regional operators usually follow their decisions.

He also noted that the start of spring field work in recent years has not created a price rush, as importers determine supply volumes in advance.

Among the key factors in March, the expert named global oil and petroleum product prices, exchange rates, tax policy, and supply and demand in the domestic market. Military risks and possible logistics disruptions also affect the situation.
