The dollar and euro are falling in value on 17 March: where can you get the best exchange rate today?

The cash market opened on 17 March with a fall in the value of the dollar and the euro. The currency has depreciated at both currency exchange bureaux and banks, with PrivatBank currently offering the best rates for buying foreign currency.

On 17 March, the dollar and the euro continued to fall on the cash market. In the morning, exchange rates at currency exchange bureaux and banks dropped, with the currencies falling by 5–10 kopecks.

According to the Minfin portal, the average dollar exchange rate at bureaux as of this morning stands at 44.40 UAH for buying and 44.25 UAH for selling. Compared to the previous figure, the dollar has fallen by 5 kopecks for buying and 7 kopecks for selling.

The euro is being sold at currency exchange offices for an average of 51.35 UAH, which is 5 kopecks lower than before. The euro buying rate remains unchanged at 51.1 UAH.

In banks, the average buying rate for the dollar is 44.4 UAH, which is 10 kopecks lower than before. You can sell US currency for an average of 43.9 UAH, i.e. 7 kopecks cheaper.

The euro in banks remains above the 51 UAH mark. The average selling rate is 51.1 UAH, which is 37 kopecks lower than before. You can sell euros at 50.35 UAH, which is 15 kopecks less than the previous level.

PrivatBank is currently offering the most favourable cash exchange rate. At its branches, the dollar is sold at 44.2 UAH, whilst the rate for card transactions is slightly higher at 44.24 UAH. The euro can be bought at the bank’s branches for 50.9 UAH, whilst the non-cash rate stands at 51.02 UAH.

At Oschadbank, the dollar is sold via non-cash transactions at 44.45 UAH, whilst the rate in the mobile app is lower – 44.25 UAH. The euro costs 51.2 UAH via non-cash transactions, and 51 UAH in the Oschadbank mobile app.

At monobank, the dollar exchange rate stands at 44.24 UAH, and the euro at 51.01 UAH.

If we compare where it is more profitable to buy currency today, the dollar and euro are cheaper at banks, particularly at PrivatBank. Prices for buying are higher at exchange offices.

However, for selling dollars, it is more advantageous to go to banks, where the average buying rate is 43.9 UAH. The euro, on the other hand, is slightly more profitable to sell at exchange offices today, where the average rate stands at 51.1 UAH.
