On the night of 25 February, drones attacked the Dorogobuzh chemical plant in the Smolensk region of Russia. After the strike, a fire broke out on the plant's territory, and the authorities are considering evacuating residents.

The attack on the night of Wednesday, 25 February, was reported by monitoring resources Astra and Exilenova+. According to their data, a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise. Classes were cancelled in local schools.

Smolensk Region Governor Vasily Anokhin confirmed the strike on the Dorogobuzh nitrogen fertiliser plant and the fire. According to him, four people were killed and ten more were injured. Rescuers are working at the site. The issue of evacuating residents of the nearest settlement is being resolved.

Dorogobuzh is a large chemical enterprise that produces nitrogen fertilisers and other chemical products, including ammonium nitrate. The components of the products can be used for both civilian and military purposes.

This is the second attack on the plant. The previous attack took place in December 2025.
