Infantrymen of the 93rd Cold Yar Brigade held the defence near Kostyantynivka for more than four months, eliminated many occupants and brought out a Russian prisoner

Two Ukrainian infantrymen with the call signs Denis Bars and Dmitry K2 have returned from positions near Kostyantynivka, Donetsk region, where they had been holding the line for 130 days. This was reported by the 93rd Separate Mechanised Brigade Kholodnyi Yar.

According to the military, the first contact with the enemy was the most difficult. After that, the soldiers admit, they acted more confidently. During the defence, they had several combat engagements and killed seven Russian soldiers.

As trophies, the infantrymen took the radio stations of the dead occupiers and listened to the enemy's conversations for about two months. The information was passed on to the battalion command. Also in the battle, Denys had to use a trophy AK 12 rifle after his own weapon was covered with debris during an FPV drone attack.

During one of the attacks, the position was covered by FPV drones and mortars. Dmytro said that after the explosion he was covered with earth, but he managed to dig himself out in a few hours and stay in the ranks.

The soldiers were evacuated from their positions by an ATV with a trailer. Together with them, 23-year-old Russian soldier Daniil Sychev from Volgograd region, who was captured at a neighbouring position, was taken away. Due to the difficult situation with rotations in this area, the prisoner stayed with the Ukrainian military for more than two months and helped to equip the fortifications. Sychev's story can be found on the YouTube channel of the 93rd Brigade Kholodnyi Yar here: https://youtu.be/glRG_9clZOg

Russia is facing mounting pressure due to the situation on the front line, economic problems and strikes by Ukrainian drones on its territory. European officials suggest that Moscow’s increasingly aggressive rhetoric may be linked to attempts to restart the negotiation process on its own terms.
