Australian high jumper Eleanor Patterson has said that she is starting to get frustrated at consistently clearing 1.94 metres after finishing second at a Diamond League meeting.

This was revealed in a comment by Eleanor Patterson following the Diamond League event.

Australian athlete Eleanor Patterson commented on her performance after the Diamond League event, where she finished second, behind Ukraine’s Yaroslava Mahuchikh.

Patterson said she had mixed feelings after the competition. According to her, she is happy with second place, but she is starting to get frustrated that she has once again stopped at 1.94m.

“I’m happy with second place, but it’s starting to annoy me that I keep clearing 1.94m. It’s a bit frustrating because I know I can do better,” said the athlete.

What didn’t satisfy Patterson

The Australian noted that she had been hoping for a better result, especially after her attempt at 1.97m.

According to Patterson, she felt she was ready to jump higher, but recently she has consistently stopped at the 1.94 m mark.

The athlete added that her dissatisfaction with these results is gradually building up, although she sees the potential to reach a new level.

What affected her performance

Patterson explained that her condition may have been affected by a demanding travel schedule.

Before the competition, she competed in China, then returned to Australia to apply for a visa to Italy, and after that travelled to the Diamond League meeting in Rabat.

The athlete also said that in recent weeks she had missed some technical training sessions due to problems with both feet.

Patterson’s next event

Eleanor Patterson’s next event is scheduled to take place in Italy.

The Australian athlete described Italy as almost a home ground for her.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh finished first at the Diamond League event, whilst Patterson finished second.
