The working week began with new exchange rates at the counters. Whilst currency exchange bureaux have kept the dollar rate at Friday’s level, Ukrainian banks have decided to revise their rates. Find out where it is most advantageous to buy currency today and what rates PrivatBank, Oschadbank and Monobank have set in this article by ThePublic.

Exchange rates at currency exchange bureaux

Currency exchange offices have updated their rates following the weekend; the dollar is holding steady, whilst the euro has risen slightly. According to the Minfin portal, the average dollar rate at exchange offices today remains at Friday’s levels. You can buy currency for 44.10 hryvnia and sell it for 44 hryvnia.

The euro, meanwhile, has risen by 5 kopecks in both directions. You can buy the euro today at an average rate of 51.65 hryvnia, and sell it for 51.45 hryvnia.

Exchange rates at banks

Banks have slightly lowered their exchange rates today. The dollar can be bought today at an average rate of 44.43 hryvnia (-1 kopeck), and sold at 43.92 hryvnia (-6 kopecks).

Banks are selling the euro at an average rate of 51.67 (-5 kopecks) hryvnia, and buying it at 51.07 (-3 kopecks) hryvnia.

PrivatBank is maintaining its exchange rates today at the levels of 22 May. The dollar can be bought at cash desks for 44.45 hryvnia, and by card for 44.44 hryvnia. The euro costs 51.75 hryvnia at bank branches, and 51.81 hryvnia by card.

Oschadbank has also kept the dollar exchange rate at Friday’s level: the rate for the mobile app is 44.40 hryvnia, and for cards – 44.50 hryvnia. The euro, however, has risen slightly in price. In the Oschadbank mobile app, the euro exchange rate rose by 10 kopecks for purchases – 51.70 hryvnia – whilst the card rate increased by 5 kopecks to 51.85 hryvnia.

"Pumb" raised the dollar exchange rate, whilst the euro rate remained unchanged. Thus, at the bank’s branches, the dollar can be bought at 44.60 (+10 kopecks) hryvnia, and the commercial rate stands at 44.40 (+10 kopecks). The euro can be bought at the bank’s counters for 52 hryvnia.

At Monobank, the rates have not changed: the dollar can be bought at 44.43 hryvnia, and the euro at 51.80 hryvnia.

Where to buy currency more cheaply

Dollar: cheapest at exchange offices – 44.10 UAH (the average price at banks is higher – 44.43 UAH, and at PUMB it is 44.60 UAH).

Euro: at exchange offices – 51.65 UAH or at banks (on average 51.67 UAH). The best rate among banks is at Oschadbank (in the app) – 51.70 UAH, whilst at PUMB the euro reaches 52.00 UAH.

Where is it more profitable to exchange currency

Dollar: it is more profitable to exchange at banks – there the average buying rate is 43.92 UAH (at exchange offices they will give exactly 44.00 UAH for it, so the difference is minimal, but banks keep the bar slightly higher).

Euro: at exchange offices – 51.45 UAH (at banks, the average buying rate is lower – 51.07 UAH).
