Farmers will be compensated up to 1,000 UAH per hectare for the purchase of Ukrainian fertilisers
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.
According to her, agricultural producers will be able to receive non-repayable state aid of up to 1,000 UAH per hectare to purchase complex mineral fertilisers produced in Ukraine.
Applications can be submitted via the State Agrarian Register. Compensation will be provided at a rate of up to 7 tonnes of fertiliser per 100 hectares of farmland.
At the same time, she said, the government has expanded the programme to support land reclamation and irrigation.
The maximum compensation for farmers and water user organisations has increased:
- to over 30,000 UAH per hectare across Ukraine;
- to over 48,000 UAH per hectare for farms in frontline areas.
The funding can be used for the restoration, modernisation and expansion of irrigation systems.
“Farmers will be able to restore and modernise irrigation systems more quickly, as well as expand irrigated areas where they are most needed today. From 2027, this support will be indexed annually,” said Svyrydenko.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the new measures are a continuation of the land reclamation reform that the government has been implementing in recent years. In particular, the state has already increased the level of support for land reclamation projects in frontline areas to 80 per cent.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers continues to fund other programmes to support the agricultural sector:
- humanitarian demining of agricultural land;
- compensation for the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery;
- support for the construction and renovation of farms;
- assistance to producers in high-risk farming areas.
Separately, Svyrydenko noted that this week the first five agricultural enterprises from frontline regions had already received increased compensation amounting to 40 per cent of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery.
According to the head of government, since the start of the year, small farms have submitted applications for 1.1 billion hryvnias in support under European programmes.
“The funds will be paid out within the next month,” the Prime Minister said.
