Danylo Getmantsev, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada’s Finance Committee, has announced that an open committee meeting will be held on 25 May, at which the committee plans to hear a report from the Economic Security Bureau. The meeting will be streamed online.

Danylo Getmantsev announced that the Committee meeting to hear the ESBU’s report will take place on Monday, 25 May at 11:00.

According to him, the meeting will be open to the public, and an online broadcast is also planned.

Getmantsev noted that the committee plans to use such meetings to initiate regular hearings of subordinate bodies on issues relating to the de-shadowing of the economy.

He also announced that the next meeting is scheduled for 1 June and will concern the State Tax Service and Customs.

Earlier, MP Getmantsev raised the issue of the “Marketopt” chain. He said that despite reports from the Economic Security Bureau regarding the suspension of the chain’s operations, the shops continue to operate as usual. The MP also stated that retail outlets continue to issue two receipts at the till.

Furthermore, according to Getmantsev, the chain continues to recruit new staff registered as sole traders.

A similar situation is observed in the vape market. Earlier, the director of the Economic Security Bureau, Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi, announced the dismantling of an illegal scheme in this sector. Among the chains accused of possible unlawful activity was Uvape. Due to the illegal vape market, Ukraine’s state budget may lose between 8 and 10 billion hryvnias annually.

Meanwhile, ThePublic reported that it had investigated the operations of the Uvape chain following the Economic Security Bureau’s statements. According to the findings of the investigation, the shops continue to operate as usual, and at the till, as before, two receipts are issued.
