Glagola: the schoolboy who opened fire at the Chop Lyceum was recruited by Russia

According to Vitaliy Hlahola, the 15-year-old schoolboy who opened fire at a secondary school in Chop had been planning the crime in advance. It is claimed that between February and March, he ordered a blank-firing pistol and modified it so that the weapon could be used to kill. It is also reported that he now faces life imprisonment.
The article separately notes that a schoolboy in the village of Bushtyno, Tyachiv district, was allegedly recruited in a similar manner. According to this information, he attempted to bring a knife into class and planned to harm his classmates. It is also claimed that the teenager even went live on social media as he approached the school.
As the author of the post notes, it is these two cases that have caused the greatest stir in Zakarpattia.
According to him, in both situations, hostile intelligence services operated through online games. It is claimed that they study their victims, find points of leverage, intimidate them and push them towards committing crimes.
Separately, it is reported that several other cases are currently being investigated in the region, linked to attempts by minors to carry out tasks for the Russian special services.
Against this backdrop, according to the data provided, educational institutions in Zakarpattia plan to step up preventive measures regarding possible methods of enemy influence.
What is known about the shooting at the Chop Lyceum
In the lead-up to this statement, Vitaliy Hlahola reported that an extraordinary incident had occurred at a school in the Uzhhorod district that morning. According to his information, a Year 9 pupil pulled out a gun during a lesson and opened fire.
It is claimed that at least two shots were fired, one of which hit a classmate.
Following this, according to the information provided, the teenager fled the scene, but was soon apprehended by patrol officers. Initial reports suggested the weapon was a non-lethal firearm. It was also reported that medics confirmed the victim’s life was not in danger.
According to the same reports, the incident took place at the István Széchenyi Lyceum in Chop. Following the shooting, the school was evacuated and the premises were searched for suspicious objects.
Separately, the author of the previous report drew attention to safety issues in educational institutions in Zakarpattia, stating that security in schools is effectively a mere formality.
