The GRU was planning sabotage in Poland, Lithuania, and Germany - Gazeta Wyborcza
As reported by ThePublic.info citing Gazeta Wyborcza, in Poland it is believed that Russian special services planned a series of sabotage operations on Polish territory itself, as well as in neighboring Lithuania and Germany. Drones and disguised explosives were to be used for this purpose.
Informed sources familiar with the work of the prosecutor's office and the Internal Security Agency shared the conclusions of the investigation regarding the detained agent Vladislav G. He is suspected of acting on behalf of the GRU.
According to the investigation, he was tasked by his handlers to obtain a shovel, dig up specified objects—canned goods labeled as ordinary canned corn—and leave them in a designated place near Łódź.
"According to our version, the Russian military intelligence, the GRU, was preparing attacks using drones and canned goods containing powerful explosives instead of corn," shared the interlocutors.
It later turned out that operations of this kind were being prepared not only in Poland but also likely in Lithuania and Germany. In particular, similar "corn cans" were found at a cemetery in Lithuania.
The detainee is also believed to have transported drone components and SIM cards between Lithuania, Poland, and Germany.
If the suspicions are confirmed, Vladislav G. faces life imprisonment. The prosecutor's office expects to complete the investigation by the end of the year.
