I am calling for a meeting of the Committee to hear the BEB report – Getmantsev
Despite statements by the Economic Security Bureau regarding the closure of the ‘Marketopt’ chain, its shops continue to operate as usual.
This was reported in a post by MP Danylo Getmantsev, who noted that the outlets continue to use two receipts at the till.
“No changes. The same two receipts at the till,” the post reads.
The Chair of the Verkhovna Rada’s Finance Committee also noted that the chain is continuing to expand and is recruiting new staff, registered as sole traders.
Against this backdrop, a meeting of the parliamentary committee has been announced, during which the Economic Security Bureau is due to present its report.
No further details regarding the date or agenda of the meeting have been released at this stage.
Recently, the Director of the Economic Security Bureau, Oleksandr Tsivinskyi, announced the dismantling of an illegal scheme in the vape market.
Uvape was named as one of the largest chains accused of possible illegal activity. Due to the illegal vape market, Ukraine’s state budget loses between 8 and 10 billion hryvnias annually.
Following this, ThePublic decided to investigate whether the Uvape chain, which has repeatedly been accused of tax evasion and the illegal sale of excise goods, is still operating. However, despite reports from the Economic Security Bureau that one of the largest schemes in the vape market had been shut down, the Uvape chain continues to operate without any noticeable changes. The chain’s shops are operating as usual, and at the till, as before, two receipts are issued.
