In 2025, the engineer troops of the Armed Forces Support Forces defused 960,767 explosive devices and cleared more than 69,000 hectares of territory. The engineers work 10-20 km from the front line, combining combat and humanitarian demining.

The engineering troops of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine defused and destroyed 960,767 explosive items in 2025. This was reported by the command of the Armed Forces Support Forces

During the year, sappers cleared 66,435.46 hectares of agricultural land and 2798.74 hectares of forests. The main priority of the engineering units is to support combat operations, including combat demining, making passages through enemy minefields, installing engineering barriers and arranging defensive lines. At the same time, humanitarian demining and support for the functioning of critical infrastructure are an integral part of their work

A special feature of the Support Forces units is performing tasks in high-risk areas. The sappers work directly near the frontline at a distance of 10 to 20 kilometres from the contact line. To reduce risks and increase efficiency, remote demining machines are used to speed up the clearance of territories and save lives

Humanitarian demining continues on a daily basis in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine, remaining a key condition for the safe return of the population and the resumption of economic activity
