Iran has attacked Amazon's servers in Bahrain

Iran’s announcement of plans to attack US technology companies has once again drawn attention to the global risks facing cloud infrastructure. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had previously announced that 18 US companies, including Google, Microsoft, Apple and Tesla, would be targeted.
The first to be affected were the Batelco and AWS infrastructures in Hamali. During the attacks in the region, there were power cuts, damage to some data centres and the activation of fire suppression systems, leading to flooding. As a result, Amazon had to redirect users to alternative data centres to ensure service continuity.
Experts emphasise that recent events highlight the risks of global dependence on cloud systems. The concentration of data centres in specific regions creates significant vulnerability during military conflicts and crises, which could affect critical services worldwide.
