The High Anti-Corruption Court has authorised the confiscation of the assets of former MP Oleg Tsarev for the state. These include real estate, land plots, buildings, structures, a trailer and corporate rights belonging to the former MP, who was found guilty in Ukraine of undermining territorial integrity and acting against the constitutional order.

This was reported by the press office of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

In Ukraine, a court has authorised the nationalisation of the assets of former MP and separatist Oleg Tsarev.

The decision was handed down on 28 April by a panel of judges at the High Anti-Corruption Court.

The court upheld the claim by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to impose on Tsarev the sanction provided for in paragraph 1-1 of Part 1 of Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On Sanctions”.

Numerous properties and other assets belonging to the former MP in the Dnipropetrovsk region may be seized for the state’s benefit.

This includes 21 plots of land, buildings and structures, a trailer and corporate rights.

The High Anti-Corruption Court noted that the parties to the case may lodge an appeal. The court’s decision shall take legal effect upon the expiry of the appeal period.

Oleg Tsarev was a member of the Verkhovna Rada during its fourth to seventh convocations. During his political career, he was known for his pro-Russian stance.

Tsarev voted in favour of the “Kharkiv Agreements”, which allowed Russia’s Black Sea Fleet to remain in Sevastopol until 2042.

He also supported the law “On the Principles of State Language Policy”, which strengthened the status of the Russian language.

Furthermore, Tsarev voted in favour of the “dictatorial laws of 16 January”, criticised Ukraine’s Constitution Day and the violent dispersal of the Euromaidan.

In 2014, he attempted to lead the “South-Eastern Movement”, supported the pseudo-republics of the “LDNR” and became “Speaker of the Parliament of Novorossiya”.

At the time, Tsarev called for the violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the overthrow of the constitutional order.

In 2022, the Russians planned to appoint him head of the occupation government in Kyiv, but these plans fell through.

Following the start of the full-scale invasion, the SBU established his collaboration with the occupiers.

In 2023, Tsarev was notified of his status as a suspect in treason and the financing of the Russian National Guard.

The SBU also seized his property in Dnipro, the Kyiv region and Crimea, worth a total of over 460 million hryvnias.

Two verdicts have already been handed down against Tsarev. He was found guilty of infringing upon the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and of actions aimed at forcibly changing the constitutional order.

The traitorous politician was sentenced in absentia to 8 and 12 years’ imprisonment. In 2022, Tsarev openly supported and justified the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Furthermore, he sponsored separatists from the so-called “DNR” and “LNR”.

As reported by ThePublic, an investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has ruled to launch a special pre-trial investigation into the former MP from the “Party of Regions”. He is suspected of embezzling 18 hectares of land near the “Stolychny” market, with a total value of over 160 million hryvnias.
