Keith Kellogg, former special envoy to US President Donald Trump, has announced that he plans to visit Kyiv in late summer. At the same time, he noted that he is currently unable to be with the Ukrainian people in person

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement made by Keith Kellogg during the Black Sea Security Forum.

According to Kellogg, he would like to be with the Ukrainians right now, but this is not yet possible.

“I plan to be in Kyiv at the end of the summer and hope that we will be able to meet,” he said.

Donald Trump’s former special envoy also thanked Ukrainians for their work and for supporting the partnership with the United States.

What Kellogg has previously said about the war in Ukraine

Kit Kellogg recently stated that Russia will suffer defeat in the war against Ukraine, rather than achieve victory. He called on Moscow to begin a negotiation process and pointed out that since 2014, Ukraine has lost only about 1% of its territory. Earlier, Kellogg proposed creating a new collective defence system that could serve as an alternative to NATO. He described the Alliance as “timid” due to its stance on Iran. Among potentially reliable partners, Kellogg singled out Ukraine, calling it an effective ally.

Comparing Zelenskyy and Trump

In March, Keith Kellogg compared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with US President Donald Trump. According to him, both politicians are united by their straightforwardness and decisiveness. At the time, Kellogg emphasised that he had personally visited the front line in Ukraine and was well acquainted with the situation on the ground.
