The management of the Odessa and Peresypskyi TCCs have been suspended following the arrests

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Land Forces have issued an official statement regarding the detention by officers of the Internal Security Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine of military personnel from the alert groups of the Peresyp District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre.
The statement notes that an internal investigation into this matter has already been launched within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is also reported that, by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support, as well as the head of the Peresyp District Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support, have been suspended from their duties.
Furthermore, the head of the Main Directorate of the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been instructed to conduct an internal investigation into this matter.
The Army also emphasised that any violations of the law, abuse of official powers or other unlawful actions are unacceptable and must be subject to appropriate legal assessment.
Earlier, the Odesa Regional Recruitment and Social Support Centre confirmed the detention of military personnel by one of the district recruitment and social support centres in Odesa and stated that it was cooperating with law enforcement agencies to clarify all the details.
As reported by ThePublic, shots were fired in the centre of Odesa during the day, after which people in military uniform were detained. The detention of military personnel was confirmed by the regional Territorial Recruitment Centre and Special Forces. Today, 21 April, an incident involving the use of firearms and the detention of people in military uniform took place on Balkivska Street in Odesa. This relates to an operation by the Security Service of Ukraine targeting representatives of the territorial recruitment centres. Eyewitnesses reported hearing numerous gunshots. Videos have been published online showing people with ‘SBU’ insignia on their clothing detaining individuals in military uniform and forcing them face-down onto the tarmac. Gunshots can be heard in the footage; one of the vehicles attempted to leave the scene but was subsequently stopped.
